I was looking at a glare my TV today and it got me thinking...
Sitting at one point on my couch, the glare appeared to be on the right side of my TV, but at a different spot the glare was on the left of the TV. Does the glare simultaneously cover the entire TV screen, or only the part where I am looking at it from? If two people were looking at the glare, it would appear in two different spots, but are those the only spots the glare actually exists at? Can someone explain this phenomenon?

The Glare obeys the law of reflection. Your TV screen is acting like a mirror and reflecting light into your eyes. It is totally dependant on where you sit.

There is glare everywhere, your location only affects what part of it you can see.

This question reminds me of one a young lad rang in to the BBC to ask during the Embassy World Snooker Final. The lad asked Steve Davis why all of the snooker balls had two white stripes on them! Steve Davis held a ball under the lights and pointed out to the lad that the two white lines always stayed at the top of the ball no matter how it was rotated - Strange!

...and even stranger, was that he found video evidence proving that Willie Thorne had those exact same two white stripes on his head! cheesey

Every part of the TV screen reflects some of the light that hits it, because it is very smooth the angle it reflects the incoming light depends on the angle of the incoming light (specular reflection). So the glare at every point on the screen is only visible from one position. Have a look at this: Link2

A lot of the films you see that claim to film something supernatural contain reflections like this, either in a window or in the cameera lens itself. When they move the camera the reflection also moves making impressionable people think they see something special and unexplainable.
