I'm building a cap bank from inverter PSU caps, total 6000uF 200V. I plan shorting it across various types of loads, including inductive. Would 4x 15A diodes in parallel be enough to catch any inductive ringing that may occur, or do I need stronger diodes? Thanks

I guess it depends on how inductive the load is, but I have a 11,200uF 400V capacitor bank, and a 2x 40A 600V diodes in parallel with the load and it hasn't given me any problems yet.

Depends on load and surge current of the diodes. Generally diodes have a non repetitive surge current of 10 times the average current. If you have the data sheet of the diode, which you should, find the surge and extrapolate
