I could get some fairly large motor capacitors (rated for 525VAC). Maybe series-paralleling them to get 1kV. How much abuse these AC rated PFC/Motor capacitors can survive with this kind of use? Are they better/worse than electrolyte caps?

I am talking about this on my thread to. my friend works at a pool store so i have a ready supply. as for your question they should be more durible, there are non polarised.
