i tried it twice.still wont work :(.i think its from the fast diode.is 30ns good enough?the diode is bym26c.the capacitor i used was 1uf from a microwave oven.i used irf640's.and can i use two different mosfets?

I don't know about your diodes, but the fast diodes in the schematic don't really have to be that fast. 1N4007s will work too, but I still use UF1005 to be safe.

The HV capacitor from a microwave is a bit overkill as far as voltage goes, but its a film cap and should be OK.

IRF 640s seem OK for ZVS, just don't push them too hard as they are only goos for half the amps of IRFP250.
And NO NO NO you cannot use two different types of MOSFET!!!!

I'd say make sure you got the connections to the MOSFETs correct and also double check the polarity of the diodes and the pins they go to.

make sure the primary coil is ALL wound in the same direction and just center tap it (2 coils in the same direction and join the middle leads)

No offense to you, but we are going to need a little more than just "its not working" . There are some common problems like primary phasing and the polarity of various components, but a few pictures will work wonders.

What kind of inductor are you using?
Have you made any other changes to the schematic other than the irf640s?
What is your power supply and the voltage it produces?

is the inductor absolutely necessary?and do the zeners have to be 12 volts?i think i fudged up all over the place.srry to waste your time but i have only been doing this for a few years.and me being 14 i really cant get everything i need.............................................. ......this is were everyone stops helping me..

1) yes you need the inductor and it should be of the right material (powdered core or gapped ferrite) and enough inductance. 2) the zeners can be anyting 12-18V and enough watts (I would suggest, get at least the 2 watt ones) 3) If you build it with the parts as in the schematic it should work on first turn-on. smile
