I have a circuit that is suppose to allow the AC component of a mixed AC+DC current to pass through capacitor C1. This is rectified and smoothed with capacitor C2. I would have a voltage divider to convert the peak DC voltage to the RMS AC voltage that C1 passed. A DC volt meter would read the voltage where it says DConly. The original DC component will go through the resistor. However, I noticed that capacitor C1 is acting as a voltage doubler with the diodes of the rectifier. Is there a better way? Should C1 come after the bride rectifier?
Circuit is suppose to extract AC component of AC+DC signal. It is suppose to convert it to DC and allow the original DC component to pass through the resistor.
