Im slowly building a cap bank from 200v+ caps i find, and i was wondering the mimimum joules you would need to get say 20ft with a fairly light projectile using a rail gun.

For this low power, would regular EMT Steel tubing work as rails?

Madgyver made a minimalist railgun (I think it was even from flash caps). Have a look at his project.
