I think this will work and doesn't require explosives... recall the Thompson induction gun that can fire rings or disks due to induced out of phase current. this gun creates a force between the two repelling currents, but what if you were to compress the two inductors together while this was happening? intuitively it seems that the field would be compressed or the current would spike in both the ring and the coil. so then wouldn't, firing an aluminum ring or slug into a coil and then triggering the coil as to decelerate the slug, create a current spike in the projectile and the coil... if so, then a second pickup coil might be able to grab the field from the slug and also the remaining slug projectile would add more induction power into the pickup coil.... so basically... slug accelerates pneumatically... slug triggers induction coil as it is about to enter it... slug experiences kinetic energy loss and magnetic field gain... slug exits coil and induces current pulse in secondary pickup coil.... or, the slug can be a ring with a plastic core and a slit in the side, where the slit is electrically shorted by a thin wire, such that via just induction alone the wire would not explode, however with induction and momentum, the wire would explode and cause the C shaped tube to "ring". just some ideas, please comment.
