IRFP250 v/s IRFP250N

Hello ,

I was checking the bullets on the datasheets of these 2 MOSFETS.
It says IRFP250 is single pulse avalanche energy rated while IRFP250N is fully avalanche rated.Would'nt it be preferable to just use IRFP250N or is there some other criteria to be considered.

Well the N version is a newer one so I guess it is preferred to use it.
