The easiest way is by using a limiter to clip the audio signal and feed this signal to the enable pin of the gate driver ic. It would sound about like this Link2 quite nice for such a simple circuit.

mh, that sounds "horrible" . nevertheless its really simple. but the enable pin of ucc driver ics can provide much more. why not use a 555 to provide fm modulation and then feed this into the enable pin at several hundred khz. the self resonant signal will get interrupted by the high frequency fm modulated signal from the 555.

I can't find UCC drivers, so i using Transistors gate driver....
any ideas how to make it without UCCXXXXX ??

perhops with gate-ICs like 4093(also schmitt-trigger) or 4007. i built a single transistor audiomod test coil with a cd4093, a ne555 fm schematic, and 2-transistors as gatedriver. as oszillator i used a cd4046 or u use a feedback schematic
