Hi all.
These may be useful. I bought a smashed 37" LG TV on Greedbay, and the ever-so-nice guy sent me all the PCBs as well as the power supply :)
Email me for the pics as they are in my Organ Donor PCB pile (tm) at home.
The CCFL transformers have to be seen to be believed, they are truly awesome. the primary alone is 15+ strands of 25ga wire and the whole transformer is the size of a matchbox.
If you wanted to build a Lifter supply then this might be a good starting point, with the output available (10+ KV) a two stage multiplier would be enough.
it looks like these xformers aren't that different to the ones used in SMPS neon tubing supplies.

although they may put out a good few few KV when unloaded, once the ccfl strikes it will only be a few hundered volts, maybe 1kv at most. I suspect the insulation may not last long if run off-load for extended periods. The high frequency also makes it hard to do a CW multiplier on the output due to diode switching time and stray capacitance. A TV flyback will be way better, and there won't be any shortage of crapped CRT TVs & monitors to scavange from....
