Hi all,
In the quest to produce more aesthetically-pleasing PCBs for my HF TCs and modulators using Eagle...but I can't seem to find the needed footprint/schematic element for the TL494 (or IXYS MOSFET drivers..) would anybody out there have a link or a schematic element/footprint they would be willing to share? I have checked the CadSoft site..but the TI library is pretty limited... There are ORCAD files on the TI site, but I am not sure how to import these (anybody have experience with this?)

I thought I would ask here before wading into the Eagle Library Editor....

Cheers!

I have TL494, both DIL and SMT version among linear devices... What's your version of eagle?

Don't know about IXDD drivers, but it shouldn't be to hard to modify one of those 5-pin D2PAK or TO220 packages (only need to copy and rename the pinout) for that.

Hi Marko,
Thanks for the reply! I have Eagle 4.16...

For the IXDD chips, I will attempt to modify an existing component...

I don't know if I'm missing anything but you should have the TL 494 in ''linear'' library.

It also shows up on search ''TL494'' to me.. confused

Wow, i just happened to find this thread right as i had the same problem. I used the TL494, and i knew i did because i remembered how they had the pinout all screwy. After i used it and later closed the program it disappeared, i guess it was no longer in the library somehow. I sometimes hate eagle.

Thanks again, Marko! shades

Create your own library,
and remember schematics do not automatically update the part when re-opened later.

Eagle is a pain sometimes, but for PCB building I already tend to have to setup my own pad sizes.
