I built a small demo DRSSTC for my school and now I dicited to post what I have it is a copy of Steav's DRSSTC3 and I think it works fairly well. I audio modulated it and will post pics later. for now I have videos.
you can see on the last piece how thick the arcs were the lights were dimming when those arcs commenced.
What I did was I used a TI-89 titanium calculator with a program I wrote which plays music from the I/O port, then the PW is controlled by a 555 so that is how I was able to have clearer music. and the effects made my the music are really neat do you want the assembly or midi files?
The last part the coil was running nearly 50% duty cycle lol I was just seeing what it could do, I don't think any Transistor could handle that, each time the coil fired the bursts the lights were dim so I know I was pulling alot of power.... Let me try this with some 400A bricks. lol
I just turned it on off (DRSSTC) you can only turn it on off. I compiled the MIDI pieces on the computer and the signal going into the 555 is only on or off.
