I recently got two Nemic-Lambda 1500W output 0-50V adjustable power supplies from MRI machine. Those would be great for powering ZVS circuits and Mini SSTC:s ect. BUT these are fairly expensive units and very hard to obtain for reasonable price so i don't want to risk them. So how i should protect these from possible HV kickbacks?

Depending on the SMPS, SMPS units dont always work too well with RF circuits like flyback drivers etc. because the drive frequency gets coupled through the power lines via ripple to the driver circuitry of the SMPS. But it really depends on the quality of the SMPS and how well the filtering and decoupling is done. You just gotta try it and see how well that particular PSU works with your circuits.
For protection, I'd add something like a 60V TVS over the terminals and make sure the circuit I would be driving would have adequate decoupling capacitors.
I myself have a couple 12V SMPS units that I have used to power flyback drivers etc. with varying degree of success, they kinda work but the output voltage jumps around alot and the SMPS makes uhm alarming noises especially when you hit resonance with the driver.
