tube tv flyback?

My dad got this old tube tv at the fleamarket for a couple dollars. The tv works. These are pics of the flyback. I was just wondering if this would make a suitable flyback . I have tried the single 2n3055 circuit it is a pretty crappy circuit (LOL). If not i'll just wacth the tv.

That flyback should work fine for making HV... Just don't expect it to put up with you pumping a kw of power in it for long
BTW, you might try leaving the existing tube based driver in tact, and just remounting the necessary components in a nicer box. Should be a nice supply for plasma globe/etc experiments.

A shame ripping that tv apart. Restore it rather than destroy it.
