An idea of mine has always been to launch large sized model airplanes using a railgun. I have heard of it being done, but nothing on calculating the net force (not counting drag) exerted on the "launch sting".
I have never built an EM Projectile Accelerator of any kind but I have a preatty good concept of how it works.
Will the attraction force depend more on current or voltage?
Would a correctly aligned magnet work as the projectile? Using a rare earth magnet I am assuming the magnetic attraction will be stronger then using a solid metal.

I agree with Psyko, you seem to be confused about the matter.
Having experience with spudguns, I can safely tell you that high accelerations can easily tear apart much tougher things than model air craft. In theory, a railgun can acheive much higher accelerations again.
Perhaps a better option for you would be to look at some kind of torsion arm system - like a crossbow?
