Hi all,
I have an LG flat panel TV here where the SMPS has blown in an expensive and hard-to-repair way due to the set being dropped.
Before I waste any more time on it, one thing I'd like to try is powering the various rails manually using an array of separate supplies. Main problem is the 24V 4.5A rail, nothing I have is even close *except* an HP printer supply. This is 31.5V at 3.4A
I've taken the supply apart but modifying it for 24V use is proving difficult. Both zeners seem to do nothing apart from shut it down if removed or swapped for a different voltage.
went on a hunt for resistive dividers or regulator ICs but a lot of the circuitry is buried under that damned unremovable white snot-like glue :(

Without knowing the PWM IC type modding wil be hard. Your best bet would be putting an external regulator on it like Carbon_Rod suggested, or modding an ATX/AT supply. Our very own thedatastream has a good guide on AT supplies, and I have one on ATX supplies.
