I just got 2 more Microwaves and stripped them I also got a 1991 mac the mac was able to draw an AC arc from the driver on the Bord. the arc was 1.5 " long and heated the fly back alot. The Mots I set up center tapped and drew a 6" flaming arc from it ill post pics soon but I have also tested it with my new spark gap ant it works well I just need 2 more and put them in oil. Ill be posting many pics of these The mac flyback is very promising.

Hmm... I've got two of those old B&W all-in-one Macs at home... Tiny 9" monitors, and [probably] correspondingly tiny flybacks. I've always wanted to perform the "aquarium" mod, so perhaps this is a chance to implement two projects in one! wink

Aaron, N7OE

Nice arcs. Watch out with those trannies on the floor! Always a little scary putting HV someplace you might end up by accident (like the floor if you trip)!

MOTs are a great example of how current contributes to arc length; compare those six-inchers of yours to what you get off a 15/30 NST!

Cheers,
Aaron, N7OE
