I have been given a epson c42 printer and it has a drivebelt that is light brown in colour. I am ASSUMING it is rubber I am thinking about making it into a small VDG using as many of the printer parts as I can .. motor support rails etc
Has this been done before ?
Any tips/ advice ?

I would check that the belt is a good insulator first, I think that belts are deliberately made conductive to avoid ststic generation but I'm not sure.
