B. Don't be vulgar. There's no need to color every single post with assorted curses, or to include obscene images or links anywhere in your profile. A little well-placed profanity is okay, but let's keep it down to a minimum.

F. Let the moderators do their job. If you're not a moderator, you shouldn't be accusing new members of not having read the rules, or of not Googling properly. You certainly shouldn't be making people feel unwelcome by acting hostile. If there's a problem with a post, report it to a moderator, and let them handle it.

we need more details on what you need before we can give an answer... 1. how much power do you need? You could probably use a gunn diode for a few mw... Heck, there is 1.2ghz radiation hitting you at like -150db from the gps satellites 2. how close to 1ghz does it need to be? A normal magnetron gives 2.5 at all of the power you can use... 900 mhz phone would give a few mw at .9ghz 3. does it need to be variable?
I would probably recommend a vacuum tube...
You can get ghz signal generators (we have few ones at Ortel, output 1w at 10mhz-10ghz in .1hz steps) but you could probably buy a house for the cost of some of them...

A coil at 1GHz? Surely you mean a strip line? A quarter wavelength at 1GHz is 7.5cm, and a little less when you factor in the velocity of propagation in your conductor. This is why Tesla coils, requiring many turns of wire, are confined to long wavelengths, that is, low frequencies.
