I was looking around at this induction heatinglately, googleing some stuff and thinking a bit.
I was wondering if it would be ok to use 2 IGBTs in a half bridge arangment, driven my (just a though) my old IGGy driver and with a cap bank of some bottle caps from my MOTTC or an MMC I have... I'm sure I can find some wire or copper tubing some where.
Would this maybe be a start?
BTW, the driver supplies about 15-20v DC @ 5A and is variable,
EDIT: and what about using my MOT's (on a lower voltage) as the coil PSU.?

Do you want to use the IGBT half bridge to drive an ignition coil to make HV, then make an induction heater with a spark gap, or do you want to drive the work coil directly from the IGBT bridge? Judging from the talk about the bottle caps, I guess the former. In that case; why not just connect the work coil directly to the output of the IGBT bridge? Should be a lot simpler and more efficient.
