I assume you mean your induction heater from the projects thread? If so, a larger tank capacitor. For induction heating frequencies of 20 - 200 kHz are used for penetrating to skin heating respectively. Due to the skin effect higher frequencies would just heat the outer portion of the workpiece, the skin. A suitable induction heater coil with an inductance of 3.5 µH would have 10 turns of 5 mm wire on a 6 cm form. To resonate at 50kHz you would need a tank capacitor of 2.9µf, which is pretty big. 3000+ beer bottle caps. But you get the idea, just increase the capacitor size so you can decrease the coil inductance. These calculators will help you find coil inductance and resonant frequency. Aim for 150 kHz operation.

No, you'll need at least 300nf. Each bottle cap is 700pf to 1.5nf on average. So about 300 bottle caps. You could always use more turns though. Play with the calculators and see what works with what you can acquire.

im not good with calculation because i done have a vom i blew up 2 already do you have any idea about a rough estimate on how many turns i should be about at?

Well say you have 20 beer bottle caps. With a work coil inductance of 30µH that is around 200 kHz. To make a 30µH coil you need to wind 30 turns of 3 mm wire on a 7 cm former - one layer. The height of the coil will be around 10 cm, so not too bad. Basically, make 20 beer bottle caps, and wind a big coil with ~50 turns or so, layered if you wish. That should resonate within 200kHz, and provide decent induction heating. Making a good, high voltage induction heater like you are attempting requires big expensive components, there is no way around that fact.

lol ok thanks i unwound the transformer i had so now all i am going to do it rewind it but not on the transformer but just rebend the prebends so it will be more than enough turns
