I have a universal motor that says 400W, which is a little more than 1/2 hp. I strongly suspect that this motor, which was made in Spain, is the same motor that is rated for 600W on European power (220VAC/50Hz). If so, this motor is capable of a little more power, but I am not exactly sure how to determine what voltage will bring it to a full 600W(0.8hp).
Here's what I did: I used 400W as a basis for P=E2/R, and got R=36 Ohms.
Now use 600W, and E=√PR, and got 146.9V
I already see that it is not 155VAC, like I stated in my previous thread, I made an error before somewhere.
Anyway, is this an acceptable way to relate voltage and power for a motor of this type?
