Basic Heat Transfer Question

I've done this before, but after about an hour of reading up about thermodynamics and other temperature related topics on wiki and hyperphysics, I can't for the life of me remember how I did it despite it being so simple. So here goes...

When you have 2 different quantities of the same liquid and both at different temperatures, what is the formula for calculating the resulting temperature (thermal equilibrium) of mixing them both together?

Maybe I've just confused myself, or maybe it's just because it's Friday afternoon, I don't know, but I did it last week rolleyes

It depends how liquids interact with each other. In case they simply mix toghether you need the Cp of both liquids, the temperatures and the masses. Calculate the energy content of each bath Q = cp*T (k)*mass, sum it and use the average Cp (based on the masses of both baths) Cp = (Cp1*m1+Cp2*m2)/(m1+m2)

In one word, weighted average (assuming no reaction like with conc sulph and water !) That is, weight the temperature by the absolute heat capacity, or compute the total energy in each component
