Building a 211 vacuum tube tester

I have a friend who has an old GE 211 vacuum tube and I want to contruct a testing platform for it. The tube needs a plate voltage of 1250 volts and 175ma. The grid needs -400v @ 50ma. Anyone ever build a tester for the 211 vacuum tube here? I'm figuring that one MOT would be good for the plate voltage. I can vary the voltage with a variac. Any comments on this approach?
