'Water Battery': Charging water by means of a mini water bridge

This is one of those experiments where one can get in on the ground floor using simple equipment which I, and others here, already have.
Whether ordinary commercial de-ionised water will be pure enough to make it work we will have to see!
There's no knowing where one might go starting off with an experiment like this!

It works with commercial de-ionized water. I did it sometime ago, it worked on the first try.
