It got me thinking, what if many of the "Unidentified Superconducting Objects" aka "USO's" are
actually a manifestation of this effect?

It would certainly have fooled researchers in 1987 and could explain a lot of the more recent observations,
as voltage would depend on ambient light levels which varies in both power and wavelength depending
on the time of year, and be highly sensitive to sample temperature just like a real superconductor.

It also provides a possible way to test a superconductor sample much more quickly, as the effect is
obvious in YBCO even at room temperature and an order of magnitude more sensitive than the more common
methods such as fluxgate magnetometry and electrothermal measurements.

I propose a simple experiment, obtain a YBCO sample and coat the top surface in Ag using a CVD rig.
Then over the top plate a thin layer of SrS nanoencapsulated phosphor so that light can still penetrate,
a layer of UV setting LOCA and over that a conductor such as indium tin oxide.

Apply an AC voltage at typical EL levels such as 110V at 300Hz and compare brightness with temperature,
and under laser illumination.
If the sample under test is a superconductor rather than non superconducting YBCO (deoxidized), the brightness will be substantially less sensitive to ambient temperature than a positive control sample of superconducting YBCO
and a negative control of YSrCuO (non superconducting) and show a strong reversing photovoltaic effect under the laser.

A proposed increase in efficiency E could be realized by using commercial EL sheet containing SrS or ZnS with its back coating peeled off, UV LOCA glued directly to a previously Ag coated sample.
The control electrode could be on the reverse of the pellet and consist of a non silver compound such as BiInSn alloy
which should not significantly affect oxygen doping if done quickly enough.
The snag would be that the EL must pass enough UV light to set the glue.

Can someone manage to get some from Gwent in the UK please, as I am loathe to spend £70+ on a hazardous charge for a tiny container containing 10g of paint.
