Hello, today at our electronic shop, i get hold of Delta Horizon II AC power supply, that looks like new old stock. It should give out 27V and 35A, so it will be perfect for my bech power supply, or maybe for CNC. Since it's Delta powersupply, biuld cuality is very nice, also it has active PFC, since voltage 425V at capacitor bank.

Now only problem, it is smart power supply, and have interlock, but i don't know how to enable it, any one have ideas, information how to do it ? (well, it sell for less than 10$)

Ok, trying to trace at least something:

It has some good PFC, with controller from TI : UC2854, also fet drivers at the same board TC4424, and fet's are IRFP450, maybe i will change them with something with more umph

PWM is also from TI, only good stufe here: UC2825

Link2

Power diodes are from IXYS and IRF, Link2 and Link2

I just got over a similar hurdle with a 600W modular power supply from Astec. The two output modules are both rated 13.2 volts, with one around 35 A and the other about 15 A. When connected to AC power, the fan started up (?) but nothing else happened.

Here is what worked, in case it gives you some ideas about the features in your power supply.
I found a datasheet but some control polarities were ambiguous, and found a human expert who told me about the special polarity option that had been ordered when my employer bought the supply.

The AC end of the supply has a 2x5 pin connector. It got a jumper between pins 6 and 8, for "master enable", and wires from pins 9 and 10 to deliver 5 volt "housekeeping power" .

The DC end has a 2x5 connector on each module, next to the heavy output terminals. Two are for remote voltage sensing. One is for current sharing with other modules. Two are an optoisolated Enable input, and when I applied 5 volts with the right polarity the outputs came up. I think there's also an optoisolated DC OK output.

Hope that helps a little.

when i plug 220V, i hear only SS relay click, and PFC hissing. Button on fron enables 13V to connector.

Connector have 13 pins, two of them are ground, 1 is ground, 2 pin is +13v ( aux 12V ? )

I try to put 13V from connector via 2K resistor to each pin, but no effect, i just have led indicator named ALARM on.

If you can find the server (or whatever) it came out of, you might be able to get info on how the other end of the connector is wired. Some of these supplies are quite tricky to turn on, I have come across a few which go as far as requiring a serial command being sent before they power up.

Yours looks like one of the simpler ones, there is a good thread at Link2 which talks about some similar power supplies and the techniques others have used to turn them on. You may need to have a sense line for both Vout+ and Vout- along with a digital enable or two

Hey, thanks for link. I read many threads, and get good and simple way how to make it work. Discard any pin that does not have nay voltage, locate pins with voltage ( yes, only one)
Short that pin to ground with 200-500R resistor, and what do you know, FAn fired, and i get voltage, now i have 1000W power supply, and i will visit store to get more, since it's only 10$ , for DELTA power supply ? good deal

Today form same store get last one power supply, this time is not from DELTA, but also very high quality, from MAGNETEK, made in Italy.

Not only that, it has ATMEGA128 for something. This is more up to date design, much larger PFC part, as well as very very fany phaseshift PWM controller UCC2895

same cost, below 10$ :)
