When I was looking at youtube, I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGx83KppSCQ I wanted to make the same thing, but a little more powerful, so I modified a simple stun gun schematic I found on the internet.
I'll be using a modified flyback for the transformer. Now I would like to know if the device is safe to use as it is in the schematic. Here you can see the specs of this multiplier according to http://blazelabs.com/cw-brm-java.asp Second i would like to know what turns ratio I should use. I was thinking about 6:2000 or something like that, but I don't know if the resonance or anything like that has a lot of influence on the output voltage of the transformer. I also wonder if I have to insulate the components on the high voltage part of the schematic, because of the high voltage and if I have to, what insulation should I use?

here is a good article on how to design a high frequency transformer
5kHz is quite low frequency thus your transformer will require many turns - 8 for primary 0.3 Tesla max flux and ~2000 secondary for a 15mm diameter flyback core.
The coil will have some capacitance and it will resonate increasing the output voltage for the same number of turns so my sugestion is to wind some test secondaries and measure the output voltage.
50kV can jump 5cm on air or more based on the geometry of the plates/electrodes so insulating is a must unless space is not an issue
