This is my first coilgun as a Semi Automatic and 1 second charge time with fresh battery and 2 seconds max near empty. Not my first but my first coilgun with the following combined into a portable pistol:
* Semi Automatic * 10 rounds capacitiy * Selective power shot level * Remotely configurable * Built in regulating booster - 330v * Ready fire Microcontrolled pistol coilgun.
Specs: 85 joules capacitor source energy + 12J for the injector. 5.1% efficient, 4.5 joules, 29m/s projectile kinetic energy. 10.5 grams steel hollow point bullet. ~1 second charge time.

Excellent job....there's nothing wrong with a little tape here and there Those look like good coils...were they hand wound? If so, it must've taken a while...

Thanks. The gun is not held together with tape. The tape you see in that One image was to first cover explosed HV wires and to hold wires in place else they snag during the hundreds of flip-flop motion that naturaly happens when working on a small object.
Coils are hand wound or assisted with drill driver, so many I cant know whose who. 4 coils actually. The two fronts are the accelerators, the red rear is the injector and the black heat shrink rapped under that one is the booster coil. Much change since that early image. Will send update. Was originally designed to insert projectile into breach by manual trigger motion. I did not like the required long trigger displacement, very uncomfortible. Attempted motor driven but small motor not strong enough and was not in mood to use gears, thats a whole nother project. So injecter was the final option. Draw back is that this lengthengs the rear of the gun and adds more joules to the bank hence sucks up charging time. Its about 12J but every joule counts when you try to make a fast shot system powered by little AAA's.
