I've been searching for this on and off for a while, but have been unable to find a formula for calculating optimal capacitor value for CW multipliers. Whilst I can see that maximum capacitance (per capacitor) would be dependent on the supply frequency and thus charging time, how this all relates and comes together is beyond me. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
The second thing I need to determine is how the regular Vout = Vinpk . 2 . n formula for an AC input works when the input is actually coming from a discharging conductor, ie, a boost converter. Would it be as simple as taking the output voltage of the boost converter and using that in the formula as Vinpk?

Edit: Reading through the VMI documents, I think I've answered my own second question - the output voltage of the boost converter would indeed be substituted for Vinpk.
