Whats everyone thing about this simple setup??
Is it ok to leave my battery (aka charging circuit) connect while the coil is fired? Could the battery be damaged? And is the IGBT ok to use here, or better to use a Power Mosfet or some other switching device?
I'm planning on using an opto switch circuit for my trigger, any suggestions on a driver? Still don't understand how to pick a right driver.
PS. I'm using 450v caps because I have them sitting around.

...First time I saw this post and noticed no reply. To keep from zapping the cap charger in my quarter shrinker, I simply place a very high inductance (an automotive ignition coil secondary) in series with the charger and pulsar.
Albi...my apologies...
