I am lookin for a little advice I am trying to have a switch change between the two 555 modes. My circuit needs to be a selectable between monostable and astable modes. But both only output when a trigger is pressed. The outputs will be sent to an igbt driver.
-Can have 2 555's outputting to the same driver? -How would you go about combining the circuits? -If both 555's outputs are connected to the same driver, would the output of one-cause problems with the other 555? -Where would you put the trigger in astable mode? -Do I need seperate drivers ( one for each mode) then connct them to the gate of my igbt?

just a few hints: a 555 timer configured as an astable multivibrator will start up with a longer half period. Keep that in mind or include some kind of fast IGBT overcurrent shutdown. You can parallel two 555s using simple diode logic (two 1N4148 diodes and a pull-up resistor). Two 555 timers are available in one package as NE/LM/LMC556.
