Hi All
I have made a small ZVS with an iron laminated transformer with air gaps, specially designed for flyback or whatever operation (I dont have the original circuit anymore so can't tell the original operation mode or frequency) with a single primary and two inductors of 25 turns 1mm dia enameled wire on yellow cores
it is designed out of a 9V 4A supply (two 18650 3Ah cells in series), two 13N05 55A logic level FETs, 10K pulldown resistors, and 180 ohm gate resistors
one of the mosfets hangs up and conducts fully on while the second is idle, so I assume the circuit isn't oscillating
I haven't checked with the oscilloscope as I know it doesn't even oscillate and hangs up in a state where one conducts, the other blocks
is it due to gate resistors being too small or inappripriate mosfets?
I guess people here know about the usual problems with this type of circuits...

thanks Steve,
do you think IRF630 would make better candidates? I have a bunch but they seem to have a pretty high RDSon of 0.4 ohm instead of the 0.04 ohm of the previous ones (they were also SMD devices, this is the reason I chose them)
Anyway, if needed, I think I could add a BJT to drive the mosfets, which could solve this problem
Is there any known design of such a variation of the royer? I seem to recall a powerfull ZVS with logic-level drive of the transistors...
Anyway thanks for the tip, if I cannot pursue with these FETs I could also use a SG3525 in half bridge with them... I only need a small power level in order to drive a firts generation image intensifier tube
