ZVS driver inductor

 		Hi, I've built a zvs driver for charging capacitors. It is the classic zvs only using 2 uF for the tank and IRF640 mosfets. My question is regarding the 47-200 uH inductor. It seems that there is no difference in operation if the inductor is present or is omitted. I wonder why is this inductor needed?
