Hey- for some of the higher power mosfet/igbt projects I do, sometimes forced convection isn’t enough. I would like to do some water cooling but I don't know enough about heat transfer and fluid dynamics to do anything other than throw together a crude mess of copper piping. I have some ideas, but it would help if I had some formulas or something. Using water temperature device temperature, flow rate and surface area, it should be enough to get some rudimentary data on how much energy is transferred to the water. Does anyone know any experimental data or resources for this type of work? Any of our members have more experience? Simple calculations should be enough, but it would be nice to read of somebody else's work too.
Thanks

is a powerful free tool - I've used it extensively in heatsink design.
