I have recently acquired a temporary license for an expensive 3D electromagnetism simulation program, called ANSYS Maxwell. This program has the capability to calculate every quantity necessary to simulate a coil gun from the data that is entered. I am well on my way to completing a simulation, but have run into a few problems.
1) I cannot instruct the program to only move the "projectile" due to its attraction to the center of the "coil." How would I go about accomplishing this? 2) I'm having trouble assigning the coil that is physically present as a 3-dimensional hollow cylinder in the model to act as the inductor in the complementary circuit I incorporated. How can I integrate the two pieces of the simulation (circuit and physical model)?
I'm looking for somebody who has experience with ANSYS Maxwell to answer my questions. This is a part of a very serious academic research project, so please do not post random speculation or scenarios to simulate in this thread, as those have already been determined.
Thanks, Jason
