Good day,
I have a seemingly simple question regarding a pin that will not route to a via. How do you connect a pin to a via using the route tool or any tool?
You can see my problem in the following pictures...
In Picture-1 I want to connect 1 and 2 together,2 is a via that I created in the PCB design window and is not on the schematic (for spade connectors).
You can see that in Picture-2 I have just wired the two connections, however, when I run the Design Rule Check it says there is an 'overlap', so eagle does not register this as a connection.

You have to assign the via to the same net that "1" belongs to. Use the "Name" tool, the same as you use for changing component designators.
If it still complains, you can disable the overlap check for "same signals" in DRC.
The fundamental problem is that you should have created a device for your spade connector, with a schematic symbol and a PCB footprint, and wired it up on the schematic.

First name the via the same as your net, and I find it best to start routing at the via and work your way back. Steve is right, you should make a library component.

This has been a problem that has been bugging me for a while but it appears to have been fixed (picture 3). In case anyone has had a similar problem: You can see in picture-1, 1 is the terminal of a capacitor and is not connected to anything, therefore you have no simple way of determining the net name in the PCB window and the signal tool will not work with a pin and a via. Going back to the schematic I found that it was named AUDIO and named my pin accordingly. I also found great insructables on eagle incase anyone hasn't seen them yet:
