I have one of these, I found it, I've opened the cap and there is 6 holes for whatever you put in here, water?/sulfuric acid? so i think there are 6 cells, how can I restore it, and recharge it?

I've never managed to restore one. Never tried squirting water in the holes, but I doubt it would help. On the bright side, they're pretty cheap if you want to just buy a new one.
Letting these batteries sit around flat is what kills them. If you do buy one, keep it charged and it'll last for years.

Looks like the typical bilge I'd expect on Instructables. I notice he never posted any measurements of capacity before and after, probably because it was 0 in both cases.

From the look of the comments it seems to work.
Not everything on instructables is total rubbish, there are some good how-to's on there

From the look of comments elsewhere on the Internet, putting special rocks on your hi-fi makes it sound better. Just sayin!
If you do try it, please measure the capacity before and after. Maybe time how long it can run a 12v lamp. Nothing like hard data.
I wouldn't expect it to work, because lead acid batteries die by the active ingredient, lead oxide, turning into useless lead sulphate. Or by the electrodes simply falling apart. Neither water nor acid will reverse those processes.
