I'm trying to audio modulate a flyback with pin 5 of a 555, I got it working, then I broke my brothers MP3 player (to scared to use my computer) when I put audio in pin 5 my power supply pulls too much current and goes off, but normally it won't do that unless I stretch the arc to much, so what can I do?

Same thing used to happen when I was messing around with the crappy 555 driver, as soon as audio modulation was added current draw went up to around 10.5 amps.
Do your self a favour and make a half-bridge if you want audio modulation as the 555 driver is an endless source of frustration and time wasted.

Having trouble with audio modulating 555
