I'm looking to build a half bridge because my ZVS is annoying, anyway I have 45v 20a PSU, I have 5 IRFP250N's left, I also have a ATX PSU, works but I cannot get it to start up (even when I ground PS-ON and PWR-OK)
Would I be able to make a halfbridge with these?
Also a quick question, that wasn't solved in my old thread, my ZVS at 45v~ 10a (drops to 25v when arc is stretched out), anyway the wires get hot, only the negative outputs of the ZVS get hot, and only near the flyback they get hot so in other words only the flyback wires get hot, never used to. Also I'm using IN4007 diodes, I have 200v power rectifiers will I benefit using these? I have also made a big inductor. as power input is pretty high.

Does everyone else see Pink block space? or is my computer puking from a virus?
Sorry about that I guess e107 doesn't integrate spoilers.
I've also been messing with my ZVS and iggy, but it only works with two ferrite inductors (I'm not using a flyback core) it is directly on the ZVS, anyway back to the question...

You will need a PWM chip of some sort to drive the half-bridge, preferably an SG3525 but there are variants that use a 555 timer and TL494 chips. I have only built the SG3525 version myself.
Your power supply voltage dropping means that it cannot support the load.
1N4007 will be too slow for the switching frequency's involved here, something like a UF4007 would be a better choice. You can request these from Vishay (but remember not to abuse this service, request something like 10 of them max).

wouldn't the electrons actually be leaving the negative terminal and bombarding the positive, since the whole traditional current thing is backwards?
check out uzzors site for a few simple power supply and inverter designs. texas instruments will probably sample you a SG3525 or TL494 and 555. just make sure you get a DIP packaged version since a lot of their stuff is smt.

That is correct regarding electrons but ions are positively charged which means that they are attracted to the negative terminal, and since they have much more mass than electrons they create more heat when they hit the electrode.
