well, it got way to hot, despite me adding less than the correct amount of peroxide, the cast got really hot, and im not sure why its not totally clear either...
The insulation as is, is much better than needed for 20 kV. so this was overkill to pot it anyway.I used a PVC tube. This was more of a practice attempt...
previous exapmle though i used a PEX tube on this one.

I've played with polyester, and noticed that overheat during cure turns it translucent. Is your polyester designed for casting or laminating? Casting polyester shouldn't heat up as much.

Did you try polishing it? Most likely the surface finish is poor due to the PVC or the PVC and heat. You should never assume you'll get a clear product unless you have polished your mold.

the clear cast above on my dummies book, was made with PEX tubing from the hardware store, the PVC pipe is the foggy one.
I recently cut open the PVC mold to see, sure enough it isnt polished,(where as the PEX ones are perfect.) so that's the cause, not the heat.
