Heh.. Makes sense, a bit hotter than Earth but could support life and we don't know (yet) how much global warming there was. Depending on geology and surface structure it could have land masses and oceans, possibly even hydrothermal systems.. !
The US military is "interested" enough to fund the ATA, maybe they know something we don't.
(and people *believe* that Cheyenne Mountain is really just a Cold War relic, Heh Heh.)
See Makes sense, a facility buried that deep would be an ideal "if all else fails" regional seat of Government in the event of an alien attack...
Come to think of it, where was the "Wow"" signal from again? Seem to recall there being several stars in that area of sky including at least one which could be a main sequence.

Since it is 600 light years away it must have been ejected from our solar system at several times the speed of light if it really is Vulcan. Orbiting it would require it to come back again so we can reach it.
By looking at the spectrum of the emitted light it is possible to find out a lot. For example if the atmosphere contains chemicals that degrade very quickly it can be deduced that these chemicals are continually being replaced by some mechanism. By looking at the amount over time it would be possible to find out how much energy is required and maybe what the source of the energy is.
With enough clues like that it might be possible to describe all the major mechanisms in some detail.

If we accept Sir Fred Hoyle's theories that microbes CAN exist in space, and can float about on specks of dust (as has been confirmed by NASA), then we must conclude that there IS some form of life there.
To what extent it has evolved, we can only speculate.
