Hi!
After doing some simulations, I am noticing that no matter what kind of dimensions I give my coil (within reason, I haven't tried a diameter of 1 meter yet, lol), the electromagnetic field is really high, from 1000 to 6000 Henry. This is obviously far, far above the saturation point for iron, and I therefore wonder how I can limit the electromagnetic field and make it more efficient. Got any tips?

I waited all afternoon for someone else to speak up.
Pinky, you need to clear up some confusion about names and units. What simulation tool are you using? What field are you talking about? Electric field? Magnetic field (magnetizing force) H, measured in amperes per meter (SI) or in oersteds (cgs)? Magnetic field (flux density) B, measured in teslas (SI) or in gausses (cgs)? Inductance L of a circuit element, measured in henries (SI; same as volt-seconds per ampere)?

I agree, I wish I could have included more details when I made this thread, but I was in a bit of a hurry, and just quickly wrote down the most basic.
Here is a more detailed explanation: The simulation is a mathematical program I wrote in Wolfram Mathematica. It is a time-dependant function of two variables, namely the inner radius and the outer radius of the coil. I have cross-referenced my results with Barrys RLC and Inductance simulators to ensure I am getting the correct answers. The program calculates the inductance, resistance, length, turns, current flow, and lastly, the electrical field, based on my two variables. When I say field, I mean the electrical field created by the coil. I notice now, from reading a little about the units that H-fields are measured in, that I might've got oersted and the SI unit A/m mixed up. My program gives me the magnetic field in A/m but it looks like the saturation point of materials are measured in oersted.
