Greetings.
I am designing a tablet pc - with an integrated multimeter, a geiger counter and some misc measuring components. I intend to use the raspberry pi computer as the core of the project, and may install anything the pi supports. (android, linux, w/e)
Does anyone know of a cheap USB multimeter that has software for android or linux? If anyone can suggest a USB oscilloscope, that would be great as well.

Good idea, nice to see someone using the Raspberry Pi for something useful.
I believe it supports a custom Linux distro, because the chip is an ARM variant and won't run XP. This was done to reduce licensing costs, as to add the Windows support would have cost another £4 per unit.
PCScope? Also maybe a Saleae Logic? Use serial A-D and make an eight channel 'scope that way, I'm sure Saleae would appreciate their product being used in this way.
Also the cheapest A-D I found is the TLC549, this only needs clock and off it goes. Someone even made it work using the PC serial port..

Greetings.
Thanks for the suggestion regarding the PC o-scope. I have looked into the logic, and have a question: If I hook up an A-d converter, any sine wave I try to measure will be reduced to a square wave? I also understand the software doesn't work with Android. Does linux work well with touchscreens?
I would much appreciate any suggestions for a USB multimeter that supports linux or android. Any cheap ones out there?
