Ok, I just finished soldering up my second version of uzzor's zvs cap charger. The first version worked out just fine, except I needed to make it a bit smaller. Second version, I have not added any of the control circuitry. I am just testing the charger part itself. without a load at all, my multimeter is measuring 450 volts output, and I hear the high pitched sound. When I hook it up to my cap bank it is charging up to 40 volts then cutting out. When it cuts out, it is about 2-3 min before the charger will function at all again, even if I discharge the caps, it won't function at all for a few min. Once it starts working again, the same cycle is repeated, checking the output without a load is fine however hooking it up to the caps simply results in charging them to 40 volts then it cuts out.
Could I have wound the transformer wrong? I've swapped mosfets from the first charger with no difference at all.(irfp250s on both sets of mosfets) The resonant cap on this charger is a 4.7uf 400v polyester film cap. I would swap the transformers, but I took apart the first version to try to remake it a little smaller. My first thought was something is overheating, yet I can't find any parts that feel warm to the touch. (though by the time I disconnect it from the cap banks for safety, perhaps a warm part has cooled down)

There are about 732 threads between this forum, high voltage, and general electronics/science. Try a search and you will find that the ZVS has been discussed and troubleshooted ad-nauseum. Do a little homework and I'm sure you'll be able to fix it on your own.
However, to avoid being of zero help to you: Did you build the circuit to-spec? What kind of battery or power supply are you using? How did you wind your transformer, and did you remember to air-gap it?
