I have recently acquired a set of tv speakers i wish to hook up to my laptop. These are rather old as they were in the tv box and were wired directly into the tv, something i havent seen in years. Its a set up of four speakers, two large two small. Each running of the same circuit in parallel. There isnt any amp or anything just wires between the speakers so im not sure it just attaching a jack to the wires would work. Will simply adding the appropriate plug to the two wires (white/yellow) and plugging it in work or will i need an amp for the speakers? also if just soldering on a plug would work what kind should i use since i tried some old head phones by stripping the wire and that didnt work.

Note the first photo i did have to mush together so you could get the idea of where the wires are in such, if you cant get it the yellow and white wires are the positive and negative as far as i can tell. if you think others wise do tell please im not great with speakers >.<

Test the little capacitor in series with the smaller speakers. If the speakers are good,you might consider making a cabinet for them. Unlike computer skills, woodworking experience will last a lifetime.
