Hi, i have a 240v -> 110v transformer, i need 350v to charge a capacitor am i able to wire it up in a buck - boost formation i was reading about it some time ago on a website?

That's not a buck/boost in the sense it's used here (switching power supplies). Also that doesn't create a DC voltage. Even when rectified it's an inefficient capacitor charger (normal transformers don't really like being effectively short circuited at the secondary side, capacitor chargers are generally similar to switching power supplies).
