For a circuit like this, how well would an IRF510 work in place of the IRFP450?
Uzzors says that any avalanche-rated MOSFET with a breakdown voltage over 200V will work, but the IRF510 is only 100V. Is it an absolute "no" for substitution?

I think an IRF510 would sizzle while producing a little spark. No really, that transistor is too weak for a flyback driver.
