Hello all, today I received a beomaster 3300, and a beogram CD 3300, along with speakers and a remote. All for free from a very kind friend. Anyway, everything works except the beogram. Every time I try to play a CD I get the dreaded question mark. According to my friend, the CD's spun when he had it but now it just goes to the question mark. I tried a google search and according to forum members bad caps are to blame. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any input or has dealt with anything similar?
Also, the motor doesn't seem to get enough power to lift the glass all the way up, can this be a result of bad caps as well?

A example was a LCD television that I repaired, the two electrolytic capacitors in parallel were at 2100uF each, but they measured around 300uF each. This much lower capacity makes the smoothing of the SMPS output very sacking, almost half wave rectified output.. almost ;)
Most consumer electronics are made so cheap that they run on the edge of working, so a smoothing capacity of 1/7 of what it should be was the only problem the television had.
