Hi all. Just received three of these for an EL clock project.
Has anyone else used these chips?
Seems that they are a 32 bit shift register with open drain (i.e. current sink) drivers which can be used up to 220V so ideal for piezoelectric or EL use.
It appears that they can also be used for LED series drive, plasma screens, or even VFDs. The output current sink is max 1.5A which works out to around 40mA per output.
They are a quad flat pack (QFP) but I can probably make a PCB and hand solder them.. Solder paste would be handy then cleaning and testing the board ought to do a good job.
Kind regards, -A
